en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority has received two development bids for the Bilaj Al Jazayer solar project. The Bahrain solar project, with a planned capacity of 100 megawatts, will be advanced under a public-private partnership model and developed on a build, own, and operate basis, with the project site located near Bilaj Al Jazayer in southern Bahrain.

Bidders in this round include renewable energy independent power producer Yellow Door Energy and Saudi developer ACWA Power. According to the Bahrain Tender Board platform, the two companies submitted bids of 11.398 million Bahraini dinars and 15.44 million Bahraini dinars, respectively. The project tender was launched in October 2025, and will proceed to the bid evaluation and developer selection phase.

The Bilaj Al Jazayer solar project is scheduled to commence commercial operations in the third quarter of 2027. Once completed, the project will support Bahrain's target of achieving a 20% share of renewable energy by 2035. As the 100 MW Bahrain solar project enters the bid evaluation stage, subsequent demand will arise for photovoltaic modules, inverters, mounting structures, booster stations, grid connection, and long-term operations.
