At the show, Musashi AI will demonstrate how its deep learning models, Active i software, and custom embedded control architecture enable faster deployment, easier maintenance, and broader adoption of AI-driven inspection in manufacturing environments. Early Musashi AI systems were often custom-developed for specific applications. The Gen 2 system, however, establishes a standardized AI-powered automated optical inspection platform capable of accommodating parts of various sizes, from small precision components to car doors. Its modular architecture is designed to be applicable across diverse manufacturing scenarios while reducing engineering effort, deployment complexity, and total system cost. At the core of the Gen 2 system is Musashi AI's Active i deep learning software, which integrates multiple neural network architectures into a single inspection process, aiming to enhance defect detection capabilities and reduce the amount of data required before system deployment. Active i was developed specifically to lower the extensive dataset and application model training demands typically required by traditional industrial AI inspection systems prior to deployment. By combining different neural network approaches, the software can identify and classify defects with less training data while maintaining inspection accuracy. The Gen 2 system employs a two-stage inspection process: the first stage locates high-probability areas of defects within a part, and the second stage performs a detailed analysis only on those areas. This process is designed to reduce computational load, shorten model training time, and improve inspection consistency across different applications. The system achieves an inspection accuracy of 50 microns, capable of identifying such minute anomalies without magnification, with a nominal defect detection rate exceeding 99%. Since the model can begin learning from as few as 20 to 30 good samples, launching new inspection applications is expected to require less data collection and engineering work compared to traditional AI inspection systems.

The latest version of the Cendiant Quality Insights software adds several features aimed at helping manufacturers leverage inspection data within their production workflows. Edge access functionality allows operators to view inspection results, images, and work order processes directly on industrial displays at the production site, without the need for additional computers or separate logins; mobile device support enables quality and engineering teams to securely access system information via Apple or Android devices; multilingual support currently covers English and Japanese, with plans to introduce additional languages; enterprise connectivity facilitates integration with ERP, MRP, MES, and QMS platforms via APIs, improving data exchange and reducing manual input; enhanced security features include encrypted communications, role-based access control, and continuous monitoring in the Gen 2 system to comply with manufacturing cybersecurity requirements.

Musashi AI will also showcase its custom embedded control board at the booth, a solution that replaces the PLC industrial PC architecture commonly used in inspection systems. The company states that this architecture is designed to simplify system integration, reduce hardware complexity, improve maintainability, and support future expansion of the Gen 2 platform. At booth 3837, attendees can view the Gen 2 inspection system and the latest version of the Cendiant Quality Insights software, and engage with Musashi AI engineers and automation experts to discuss AI-based quality assurance applications.
