en.Wedoany.com Reported - Air Liquide Karabatan Technical Gases (ALKTG), a subsidiary of Air Liquide, has signed a new long-term agreement with chemical manufacturer Silleno to supply nitrogen and compressed dry air for its future polyethylene plant. This new investment of €70 million in Kazakhstan aims to support the industrial project of transforming the Karabatan Basin in Atyrau into a world-class petrochemical hub.

Under the agreement, ALKTG will build, own, and operate two high-purity, energy-efficient nitrogen production units. This facility will become one of the largest industrial gas facilities in Central Asia. The commissioning and initial supply delivery of the units will be synchronized with the construction progress of Silleno's plant, with a target completion date by the end of 2028.

The new facility will be located within the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark (NIPT) special economic zone, adjacent to ALKTG's existing air separation unit (ASU), which currently supplies nitrogen to Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries (KPI). This investment builds on ALKTG's initial investment in the Karabatan Basin in 2019, further consolidating the joint venture's industrial footprint and synergies in the basin. Air Liquide has been present in the Kazakhstan market since 2016.
