en.Wedoany.com Reported - Fastweb + Vodafone has recently launched the Fastweb Power Control smart power management solution, helping users gain a more accurate understanding and control of their household electricity consumption. The solution consists of a service-bound smart plug, the Power Control Plug, and a digital experience integrated into the MyFastweb and My Vodafone apps.

Fastweb + Vodafone launches Power Control, a smart plug that lets you manage home electricity usage

Users can view real-time current power consumption at home via a dedicated dashboard, and leverage Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) technology to identify the impact of each appliance on total energy consumption. The service also provides information on periods with more favorable electricity rates and personalized energy-saving tips. The service operates using the Chain 2 remote management function on second-generation smart meters. After verifying their meter's compatibility, users simply plug the received Power Control Plug into a household socket, follow the guided configuration process in the app, and see initial energy data on the dashboard within 24 to 48 hours.

Walter Renna, CEO of Fastweb + Vodafone, stated on LinkedIn that the technology uses NILM to analyze the electrical characteristics of the meter, enabling monitoring of each device's energy contribution without additional wiring or complex installation. Users can not only view real-time data in the app but also receive notifications of abnormal spikes and power outages, keeping them informed of electricity usage even when away from home. The system leverages artificial intelligence to analyze user habits and provide daily suggestions for reducing waste.

Fastweb Power Control is open to customers of any electricity supplier and can be subscribed to through the digital and commercial channels of both brands. The service can be canceled at any time with no additional fees. The smart plug can also be used as a smartphone charger and remains the customer's property even after service cancellation. The service price is a one-time device fee of €19.95 plus €3 per month; if activated before August 31, 2026, the promotional price is €1 per month.

The project was developed in collaboration with several Italian professional partners, including Sinapsi, a company specializing in IoT and energy monitoring hardware and software technology; Veos AI, focused on AI-powered energy platforms; and SBS, an international manufacturer of technical equipment and accessories. Through this service, Fastweb + Vodafone further expands its home digital service portfolio, using connectivity, data, and artificial intelligence to help customers optimize costs and enhance energy awareness.
