Bajaj produced 60,000 motorcycles in Manaus in two years

The Manaus factory, which invested $12 million and operates using completely knocked down (CKD) kits imported from Asia, is Bajaj's first factory outside India. The factory initially had an annual production capacity of 20,000 units, which was increased to 48,000 units after an additional $10 million investment last year. Currently, the factory employs a total of 250 direct and indirect workers, responsible for kit preparation, engine assembly, motorcycle assembly, quality control, packaging, and shipping. Bajaj had previously established a production partnership with Dafra in December 2022.

The Manaus factory currently assembles models such as the Dominar 400, NS400Z, 250, NS200, NS160, and Pulsar N150, with the Dominar 400 leading in both sales and production volume. Products enter the market through 74 sales points and dealerships. Thanks to the expansion of its dealer network, diversification of product offerings, and accelerated production, Bajaj has risen to 6th place in the ranking of the Brazilian Association of Automotive Vehicle Dealers (Fenabrave), which brings together 21 brands.

Waldyr Ferreira, General Manager of Bajaj Brazil, stated that producing over 60,000 domestically manufactured motorcycles indicates the company is on the right track.
