en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kakao and KT Cloud have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), under which the two companies will collaborate technologically to jointly build a trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) technology and service environment for users.

Kakao announced on the 26th that it signed an MOU with KT Cloud on the 25th. The two parties plan to combine their respective technological strengths to build a secure AI ecosystem. The collaboration aims to enhance the reliability of AI services based on Kakao's AI security technology and KT Cloud's AI infrastructure platform capabilities.

Under the agreement, the two companies will proceed in three phases: development, verification, and expansion of AI security technologies. In the first phase, Kakao will apply its self-developed AI guardrail model "Kana Safeguard," along with its model safety evaluation system, Red-teaming System, and other "AI Safety Tools," to KT Cloud's AI platform.

Kana Safeguard is an AI guardrail model independently developed by Kakao to verify the safety and reliability of AI services and is currently applied to Kakao's major AI services. The model utilizes a self-constructed dataset reflecting the Korean language and culture, offering specific performance tailored to Korean.

In subsequent phases, the two parties will verify the effectiveness of these tools based on actual customer use cases and continuously improve the technology level. In the final phase, the companies plan to jointly develop a platform capable of integrating and managing AI Safety Tools based on usability, to formally expand the ecosystem.

Kim Se-woong, head of Kakao's AI Synergy division, expressed hope that the combination of Kakao's AI security technology with KT Cloud's infrastructure capabilities could serve as an opportunity to enhance the security of the domestic AI ecosystem, and pledged continued efforts to create an AI environment where users can use services with confidence.
