en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kazakhstan's Atyrau Oil Refinery (АМӨЗ) launched planned preventive maintenance on June 26, 2026, aimed at ensuring equipment reliability, process stability, and improving production efficiency. This action is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the country's Civil Protection Law in the field of industrial safety and the schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy.

Within the framework of the planned preventive maintenance, mandatory technical inspections will be conducted on 20 reactors, 213 vessels, 32 columns, and 231 heat exchangers, and some pipeline sections will be replaced. Additionally, several process units plan to replace catalysts totaling over 335 tons. To increase the production of light petroleum products such as motor gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel, it is also planned to replace the internals of the vacuum column on the ELTK AVK-3 unit. To minimize pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, equipment cleaning will be carried out within a closed discharge system.

This maintenance work involves approximately 1,685 specialists and 53 pieces of specialized equipment, with special attention paid to compliance with labor protection, industrial safety, and fire safety requirements. To maintain stability in the domestic market for refined products, petroleum product shipments during the planned preventive maintenance period will rely on pre-established reserves. Currently, the refinery's tank farm has accumulated reserves of: 38,000 tons of motor gasoline, 31,300 tons of diesel, and 6,800 tons of aviation fuel. The market situation for petroleum products in the Republic of Kazakhstan is stable, with AI-92 gasoline reserves sufficient for 34 days of consumption and diesel reserves sufficient for 32 days of consumption. The process units are planned to be gradually brought into operation starting July 10 of this year.
