en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nordex Group has put into operation an outdoor storage area covering a total of 18,000 square meters at its nacelle factory in Rostock, Germany, with a project investment of 5.5 million euros. This measure aims to move key components directly from production to on-site storage, shortening component transport distances and helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The Rostock site is a unique part of Nordex Group's global production network. The site manufactures nacelles, hubs, drive systems, and switchgear, and is currently the only factory worldwide capable of producing all turbine models, covering a power range from 2.4 to 7 megawatts. Currently, the team delivers approximately 12 nacelles per week, equivalent to an installed capacity of about 66 megawatts.
At the opening event, Alexander Farnkopf, Director of Nacelle Production in Germany, stated that the new outdoor storage area further solidifies the Rostock site's position within its global production network, improves operational efficiency, and prepares the site for the future.
State Secretary Jochen Schulte and Rostock Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger attended the event. They emphasized the significance of this investment in advancing Rostock as an industrial hub and promoting climate-friendly economic growth in the region.
