en.Wedoany.com Reported - Serentica Renewables has announced plans to invest 1 trillion rupees in Rajasthan over the next few years, solidifying the state's position as a key hub for India's renewable energy expansion and industrial decarbonization. The company has already invested over 100 billion rupees in Rajasthan and is accelerating the development of large-scale renewable energy and battery energy storage infrastructure.

The company currently operates a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 2,500 MW, with an additional 3,000 MW under construction. Serentica aims to deliver 67 billion units of clean electricity annually, helping to avoid approximately 47 million tons of CO2 emissions. Its long-term renewable energy pipeline is planned to reach 27,000 MW, with Rajasthan accounting for more than half of its total solar capacity.

Serentica's existing solar assets are located in Bikaner and Jaisalmer, with plans for further expansion in Bhadla. The company's strategic focus is on providing reliable, round-the-clock renewable electricity to commercial and industrial customers through integrated renewable energy and energy storage solutions.

As part of its next phase of expansion, Serentica will launch the first phase of one of the region's largest battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Bikaner. The initial phase will add 200 MWh of battery energy storage capacity, ensuring uninterrupted clean energy supply for industrial customers. The second phase will add 800 MWh of storage capacity, expected to be operational within the next three months. The company also plans to expand its Fatehgarh solar platform, with an initial capacity of 1,270 MW peak, followed by an additional 500 MW peak of solar generation and 2,500 MWh of battery energy storage in fiscal year 2026-27.

Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables, stated that Rajasthan remains a key pillar of the company's growth strategy and is emerging as one of India's leading renewable energy destinations. The upcoming battery energy storage project in Bikaner will enhance the company's ability to provide stable, dispatchable renewable energy, while supporting industrial decarbonization and strengthening grid resilience.

In addition to renewable energy infrastructure, Serentica is investing in community development projects in Rajasthan through its EdIndia and "Vikas" initiatives, having committed over 38 million rupees to education, teacher training, and local infrastructure development. The company stated that its integrated renewable energy and battery energy storage strategy aims to position Rajasthan as a major hub for reliable, affordable, and sustainable power generation, while supporting India's long-term energy transition.
