en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 6:00 local time on June 27, Unit 2 gas turbine of the Uzbekistan Syrdarya Phase II 1600 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd., completed a 72-hour reliability run. During the operation, the system remained stable with excellent parameters.
Throughout this reliability test, the unit maintained continuous, safe, and efficient operation despite frequent changes in external conditions. With both Unit 1 and Unit 2 gas turbines having successfully completed their 72-hour reliability runs, a solid foundation has been laid for the subsequent combined cycle overall startup.
Located near Shirin Town in Syrdarya Region, eastern Uzbekistan, this project is currently the largest combined cycle power plant project in Central Asia and a typical project of China-Uzbekistan production capacity cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative. The plant has an installed capacity of 1600 MW, utilizing world-class Mitsubishi J-class gas turbine technology, with a combined cycle unit efficiency exceeding 63%. It will generate 12 billion kWh of electricity annually, saving 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2.2 million tons, or planting 120 million trees. Upon completion, the project will help alleviate local energy supply-demand imbalances and promote the development of urban infrastructure and supporting industries.
