en.Wedoany.com Reported - Microsoft has joined the Sisvel Wi-Fi Multi-Mode Patent Pool as a licensee. The US computer and software giant is the latest in a recent series of major companies to obtain standard essential patent licenses through this platform. With this, Microsoft joins ASUS, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Sony Group Corporation as licensees, while the patent pool licensors include Huawei, Panasonic, Philips, and ZTE, as well as KPN, Mitsubishi Electric, Orange, Aegis 11 (a Sisvel subsidiary), SK Telecom, and Wilus.

The Sisvel Wi-Fi Multi-Mode Patent Pool covers Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7, providing an efficient way to secure necessary Wi-Fi rights for the coming years. The patent pool officially launched in January 2026, succeeding the Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 Patent Pool. During the three-year term of the previous project, agreements were signed with 40 companies, including Acer, Netgear, Cisco, and HP.
