en.Wedoany.com Reported - Claro empresas, in partnership with MIT Technology Review Brasil, has launched CISO Next, an exclusive community for some of Brazil's leading information security leaders. The initiative aims to elevate cybersecurity as a strategic issue for Brazil's economic and technological development and foster the exchange of experiences among senior information security executives.

The project brings together information security executives from organizations such as Vale, Gerdau, Serpro (Brazilian Federal Data Processing Service), and Santander. Over the course of one year, these members will meet regularly. Discussions will be moderated by MIT Technology Review Brasil, with plans to generate content and research tailored to the Brazilian corporate market, aiming to strengthen collaborative capabilities amid the increasing frequency of digital attacks.
The founders of CISO Next believe that cybersecurity is a matter of collective interest, not limited to the corporate sphere. In an increasingly interconnected digital environment, a single vulnerability can jeopardize an entire chain of suppliers and partners, thereby amplifying risks to trust within the business ecosystem and society at large.
Denis Nesi, CISO at Claro and one of the initiative's founders, stated that the Brazilian market faces unique and complex demands, making it essential to share best practices that can drive industry progress. He noted that the creation of CISO Next reflects Claro empresas' commitment as a strategic partner in the corporate market, combining cybersecurity expertise with MIT's curation capabilities.
Paulo Martins, Director of Information Security at Claro empresas, emphasized that corporate productivity today heavily relies on automation and connectivity, with the advent of generative AI adding new layers of complexity. In his view, CISO Next aims to provide guidelines and best practices aligned with Brazil's reality, helping companies enhance their digital protection levels.
Over the course of a year, the community will discuss structural issues redefining the CISO's role within organizations, including technological sovereignty and dependence on critical infrastructure, the development and shortage of information security talent, internal cybersecurity communication within companies, the relationship between CISOs and senior management, and security as a driver of innovation and growth.
The CISO Next proposal goes beyond technical protection, viewing information security as a strategic element that can support the realization of new business models and foster corporate growth in an increasingly challenging digital environment. Its philosophy is to connect technical discussions with organizational strategic decisions, bringing CISOs closer to the core of business decision-making. CISO Next brings together security executives from sectors including finance, retail, healthcare, industry, and government. Community participants include Dan Harif from Vale, Vitor Sena from Gerdau, Leandro Granja from Santander, and hosts Denis Nesi and Paulo Martins representing Claro empresas.
In addition to in-person meetings, the project will establish a dedicated content section producing articles, analyses, and research for the Brazilian corporate market. These materials will be published in a special column within Claro empresas' Próximo Nível content center, curated by MIT Technology Review Brasil, to amplify the impact of discussions among executives.
Carlos Aros, Executive Editor of MIT Technology Review Brasil, summarized the spirit of the initiative. He stated that collaboration is the premise behind CISO Next, and that cybersecurity is a core and complex strategic issue for both businesses and governments, requiring equally complex responses. The organization's content is based on an academic perspective as well as data and facts drawn from daily market realities.
Through this initiative, Claro empresas reinforces its position as a reference in Brazilian cybersecurity and strategically participates in building a safer digital ecosystem for businesses and consumers. MIT Technology Review Brasil, in turn, solidifies its role in translating complex issues into practical impacts for the Brazilian corporate market.
