en.Wedoany.com Reported - Steel pipe supplier Tenaris has commenced operations at its newly opened service center in Suriname, which will support the GranMorgu offshore project operated by TotalEnergies, with APA Corporation and Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname also as partners in the project.

Located in Paramaribo, the service center will provide integrated services for offshore operations under Tenaris's Rig Direct service model, supporting TotalEnergies' casing and tubing supply and related services.
Tenaris's facility covers 74,500 square meters with a storage capacity of 15,000 tons, including a logistics yard and an inspection line where pipes are prepared and verified before offshore installation.
The service center also integrates digital technologies, including the PipeTracer pipe identification system and the Rig Direct Portal for order management, cargo tracking, and document management.
"As Suriname enters a new phase in the development of its energy industry, we are proud to support TotalEnergies in developing the GranMorgu project with our unique experience in servicing complex offshore operations. The GranMorgu project requires advanced product and service solutions and the highest safety standards. In this context, our global experience translates into local advantages. Our investment in this service center reflects our confidence in Suriname, its institutions, and local talent," said Duilio Pesce, President of Tenaris for the Andes and Caribbean region.
"As Suriname enters a new phase in the development of its offshore resources, with drilling activities commencing this year, the GranMorgu project is progressing steadily. The launch of the Tenaris service center marks a key step in the execution phase of the project, with drilling equipment gradually being mobilized domestically. Beyond the technical aspects, GranMorgu represents a long-term industrial opportunity for Suriname, helping to enhance local capabilities, create jobs, and foster a sustainable offshore ecosystem," added Javier Rielo, Senior Vice President of Exploration and Production for the Americas at TotalEnergies.
