en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bharti Airtel, India's second-largest telecom operator, is planning to establish a second headquarters, choosing not Bengaluru or Chennai, but the southern Indian city of Hyderabad. The company is currently headquartered in Delhi-NCR, and Group Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal recently confirmed this plan.

Mittal assured Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy that Bharti Airtel is committed to expanding its data center capacity and fiber optic network in the region. This move is expected to bring new job opportunities and modern infrastructure to the area. Reddy also requested Mittal to assign a senior executive to coordinate with the state government to expand Bharti Airtel's business coverage in the region.
Bharti Airtel is expanding its data center network across India, betting on growing demand for data center capacity from enterprise clients. The company has also recently taken strategic steps to strengthen control over its subsidiaries. In a recent development, Bharti Airtel completed an equity swap transaction with ICIL, one of its promoter entities: ICIL transferred a portion of its Airtel Africa shares to Bharti Airtel in exchange for Bharti Airtel's preference shares. The company expects Airtel Africa to become a significant cash generator in the coming years and aims to benefit from its earnings in the long term by strengthening control.
