The Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced the project’s continuation, supported by $95 million in federal grants.

The initial $90 million phase, completed in 2023, was paused pending additional funding. With new resources secured, the project now combines three phases into a single effort. Key elements include expanding US-75 from 71st Street to 41st Street and replacing the US-75 interchange at 61st Street. A new frontage road will connect 61st Street to Skelly Drive, while 51st Street will be extended and linked under US-75. Additionally, a pedestrian bridge will be constructed over the railroad near Elwood Avenue along 51st Street.

An Oklahoma Department of Transportation spokesperson stated: “The project is due to be completed in summer 2028, dependent on weather conditions.” The consolidated approach aims to streamline construction and enhance connectivity in the area.
