en.Wedoany.com Reported - Uzbekistan has launched a new artificial intelligence cluster at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, as part of the country's efforts to strengthen its AI ecosystem, expand scientific capabilities, and support innovation-driven growth.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, the launch ceremony brought together senior government officials, representatives from the technology sector, academics, researchers, and students. Attendees included Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, as well as senior officials from the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers responsible for digitalization and AI development.

The newly established AI cluster aims to integrate education, scientific research, and innovation projects on a single platform. As part of the initiative, the university has been equipped with a modern GPU cluster and high-performance multifunctional servers to support AI model development, large-scale data processing, machine learning, and applied research. The university stated that the launch of the AI cluster is an important step in enhancing technological capabilities and supporting innovative ideas among young people.

The cluster also includes an AI laboratory, an AI prototyping studio, and an AI lecture hall, where students and young researchers can work on projects involving artificial intelligence, 3D design, the Internet of Things, and startup development. During the launch ceremony, officials activated the AI module of the ServSig project and showcased several startup initiatives and scientific achievements.

The new platform is expected to play a key role in advancing Uzbekistan's long-term strategy to become a regional hub for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
