On June 12, the technical evaluation phase of the project concluded, with the contract term set at five years and an option to extend for an additional five years. During this phase, CARP, through Resolution No. 14/26, listed Jan De Nul and Boskalis International Uruguay S.A. as qualified bidders.

Last week, the economic bids of the two companies were opened to execute the initial five-year contract. Jan De Nul bid $65,994,000, while Boskalis International Uruguay S.A. bid $149,279,315.

Based on the above process, CARP issued Resolution No. 17/26 yesterday, declaring Jan De Nul's bid as the most favorable.

The Martín García Channel, approximately 106.5 kilometers long, extends from kilometer 39 of the Río de la Plata public waterway to kilometer 0 of the Uruguay River, serving as a vital route for foreign trade between Argentina and Uruguay. The channel has a depth of 34 feet (approximately 10.36 meters) in soft bottom areas and 38 feet (approximately 11.58 meters) in hard bottom areas. It is a single-lane canal, allowing passage for vessels with a length not exceeding 245 meters and a beam not exceeding 32.6 meters.

CARP concluded that this dredging project is a fundamental step to ensure the navigability and safety of the Martín García Channel, a key infrastructure for trade and regional connectivity.
