en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Phase I project of the Qingshan Nickel Polymetallic Mine and Nickel-Molybdenum-Based High-Temperature Corrosion-Resistant Advanced Materials officially commenced on June 30, 2026, in Zhijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. This project is a landmark initiative for Bijie in advancing "efficient mineral development" and deepening the transformation of resource advantages. It is led by Guizhou Tuojin Nickel Industry Co., Ltd., with Beijing Construction Engineering Road and Bridge Group participating in construction.

Guizhou Tuojin Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. is jointly established by Qingshan Steel and Qingtuo Group. Qingshan Industrial is one of the world's largest producers of stainless steel and nickel pig iron, with a full industrial chain spanning nickel mining, nickel pig iron smelting, stainless steel smelting, hot rolling, and cold rolling, holding a leading position in the global nickel and stainless steel industry. Qingtuo Group is one of the major domestic stainless steel production bases under Qingshan Industrial. The project has a total planned area of 1,360 mu (approximately 90.7 hectares) with a total investment of about 12 billion yuan, and will be steadily advanced following the development strategy of "overall planning, resource coordination, and phased construction." The Phase I nickel polymetallic ore smelting section covers 690 mu (approximately 46 hectares) and officially broke ground in June 2026, with the first production line expected to commence trial production by the end of 2027.

In the future, the industrial park will sequentially introduce industrial sectors such as high-temperature corrosion-resistant advanced materials, fluorite beneficiation and smelting, and lead-zinc smelting. Upon full completion, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of approximately 33 billion yuan, annual tax revenue of about 3 billion yuan, and create employment for around 5,000 people. The project will smelt nickel polymetallic ore into nickel-molybdenum-iron alloy products, while also producing by-products such as zinc powder and industrial sulfuric acid. The project is planned to be built in three phases: Phase I with an annual smelting and processing capacity of 100,000 tons of nickel polymetallic ore, Phase II with an additional 100,000 tons, and Phase III with 200,000 tons.

At the launch ceremony, Guo Xiwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Bijie Municipal Party Committee, attended the event. Yao Yi, Deputy Secretary of the Bijie Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, delivered a speech. Hu Bin, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Qingshan Industrial and General Manager of Guizhou Tuojin Nickel Industry Co., Ltd., introduced the project details and announced the commencement of construction. Zheng Huangyu, General Manager of Beijing Construction Engineering Road and Bridge Group Co., Ltd., also spoke. Hu Bin stated that Qingshan Industrial and Tuojin Nickel Industry will resolutely implement the strategic deployments of the province and city, advancing the project with high standards, high quality, and high efficiency, striving to build a domestic first-class benchmark base for high-end new materials. Zheng Huangyu stated that Beijing Construction Engineering Road and Bridge Group will strictly adhere to safety, quality, schedule, and environmental requirements, completing all construction tasks with high standards and high efficiency.

The launch of this project represents a significant strategic layout by Qingshan Industrial in Guizhou, aiming to establish a global R&D and innovation hub for nickel-molybdenum-based new materials and forge a chain connecting mineral resources with the high-end stainless steel industry. In the first quarter of 2026, Qingshan Holding Group landed this industrial investment project in Zhijin County, Bijie City, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan to build a project with an annual smelting capacity of 400,000 tons of nickel polymetallic ore and material processing. Deeply leveraging the mineral resource endowments of Zhijin County, the project aims to create a full industrial chain development system integrating green mining, efficient smelting and purification, and fine processing of high-end materials. The implementation of this project will significantly promote the industrial transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of Bijie.
