en.Wedoany.com Reported - Belden has completed its $1.85 billion acquisition of Ruckus Networks.

Ruckus was previously part of the enterprise networking division of Vistance Networks (formerly CommScope). CommScope brought Ruckus to market after shifting to Access Network Solutions (ANS) and selling its Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) and mobile network businesses to Amphenol.
Belden moved quickly in May after Extreme Networks signaled interest in acquiring Ruckus. The company stated at the time that the acquisition would bring differentiated Wi-Fi and enterprise switching technology to its customers in the hospitality, education, and healthcare sectors.
Following the deal's closure, Belden President and CEO Ashish Chand said the acquisition accelerates the company's transformation into a full-stack network solutions provider, enabling it to offer broader, higher-value solutions to customers in enterprise and industrial environments. He looks forward to working with the entire team to leverage this acquisition to create long-term value for shareholders and customers.
The addition of Ruckus continues Belden's transformation into an end-to-end IT and operational technology (OT) network solutions provider, directly competing with networking giants Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and OT players like Siemens. Extreme Networks is also a competitor. Its CEO Ed Meyercord recently commented on rumors of Extreme's $1 billion offer for Ruckus, stating that the company's valuation of the business was far from the final transaction price, which he considered a high premium. Meyercord noted that while Ruckus excels in wireless, its investment in switching is not as strong as Extreme's investment in its wireless business. He said Belden would not be seen in the market, and if Ruckus fell into the hands of companies like Arista or Fortinet entering this market, the risk to Extreme would be greater, making the acquisition a low business risk for Extreme.
Founded in 2002, Ruckus Networks began a rapid succession of corporate ownership changes after being acquired by Brocade Communications in 2016. However, a year later, Broadcom acquired Brocade and began divesting multiple assets in 2017. Subsequently, Arris International acquired Ruckus for $800 million; CommScope then acquired Arris for $7.4 billion, inheriting Ruckus as part of the deal.
With this $1.85 billion acquisition, Belden becomes Ruckus's latest parent company. Belden has also completed several other acquisitions, including the 2024 purchase of optical component supplier Precision Optical Technologies and the 2023 acquisition of edge-to-cloud data platform CloudRail. Belden has a public valuation of approximately $4.5 billion. In its most recent financial report for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, total revenue was $696.4 million, up 11% year-over-year. The company achieved $2.75 billion in revenue in fiscal 2025.
