Air Arabia launches Sharjah-London Gatwick route in July and resumes Aleppo flights

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Air Arabia has launched its first direct flight from Sharjah International Airport to London Gatwick and resumed regular flights to the Syrian city of Aleppo, further expanding its international and regional route network.

Both new routes began operations on Saturday. The Sharjah-London Gatwick route is operated by Airbus A321LR aircraft, offering a daily direct service. According to a report by the Arabic daily newspaper Al Khaleej, flight G9258 departs from Sharjah at 1:45 PM local time and arrives at London Gatwick at 6:35 PM; the return flight G9259 departs from London at 7:35 PM and lands in Sharjah at 5:50 AM the following day.

Starting July 10, Air Arabia plans to add a second daily service on this route to increase capacity. The new flight G9265 will depart from Sharjah at 3:55 AM and arrive at London Gatwick at 8:45 AM; the return flight G9266 departs from London at 10:05 AM and returns to Sharjah at 8:20 PM.

On the same day, Air Arabia also resumed daily regular flights between Sharjah and Aleppo, further strengthening air connectivity between the UAE and Syria after years of limited operations. The flight departs from Sharjah at 8:00 AM UAE time, and the return flight departs from Aleppo at 11:35 AM. Syria's General Authority of Civil Aviation stated that the route will enhance air links between the two countries and expand travel options for passengers.

Air Arabia continues to expand its operations in the Syrian market, currently operating 21 weekly flights between Sharjah and Damascus. The company also announced the launch of a direct service from Abu Dhabi to Aleppo starting July 7, operating three weekly flights between Zayed International Airport and Aleppo International Airport.

Currently, Air Arabia's route network radiates from its hubs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah to over 76 destinations in approximately 34 countries. This move reinforces the airline's strategy to expand affordable international connectivity.
