en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chen Li, co-founder of Unitree Technology Co., Ltd., predicted at the 2026 Yabuli Forum Innovation Annual Conference held in Shanghai today that the intelligent robotics industry will achieve a breakthrough within the next two to five years.

Chen Li pointed out that three core elements are essential for a breakthrough in the robotics industry. First, a unified end-to-end robot large model is the most critical factor. Second, lower-cost, longer-life hardware combined with ultra-large-scale mass production can significantly reduce marginal hardware costs—a path that can draw lessons from the automotive industry's achievement of extreme cost-performance through scale. Finally, in terms of low-cost, scalable computing power, distributed computing is needed to address edge-side issues such as battery life, heat dissipation, and cost, as well as cloud latency problems. For example, dedicated AI computing base stations in buildings can provide computing support for all smart devices and robots on site.

Chen Li proposed that the "ChatGPT moment" for embodied intelligence can be simplified into two 80% milestones: in 80% of unfamiliar scenarios, robots can successfully complete approximately 80% of tasks through voice or text commands. He expects that four years later, in 2030, embodied intelligent robots will lead a new wave of consumption, significantly boosting social productivity and labor force.
