Kazakhstan's KMG and Baker Hughes Discuss Service and Production Localization

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Askar Khassenov, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunayGas (KMG), and Lorenzo Simonelli, President of Baker Hughes (BH), held a meeting in Astana, focusing on joint measures to attract local machinery manufacturers for service and production localization. Khassenov stated that to increase local content, KazMunayGas and its partners in major oil and gas projects are working to gradually expand the share of local machinery manufacturers and producers in the service and equipment spare parts production sectors. The meeting particularly emphasized that Baker Hughes should extensively implement localization plans for the majority of services and goods within the framework of its projects in Kazakhstan. Baker Hughes expressed its intention to cooperate with West Kazakhstan Machinery Company, Atyrau Energy Repair Company, KIOS, and other local enterprises.

Baker Hughes is an American multinational oil service company with a 30-year history in Kazakhstan, serving the Tengiz, Kashagan, and Karachaganak oil fields. It supplies compressors, generators, gas turbines, and spare parts, with the total value of products supplied during this period exceeding $4 billion.
