en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 3, Spanish renewable energy company Acciona Energia announced that it will start site preparation work for the Fleming solar project in Kentucky, USA, in the coming weeks. The solar project has a planned capacity of 235MWp and is located in Fleming County, Kentucky, with an investment of approximately $195 million. It is another large-scale solar power plant that Acciona Energia is advancing in the United States.

Once completed, the Fleming solar project will become Acciona Energia's fifth solar project in the United States and will be included in its approximately 3GW renewable energy asset portfolio in the country. This portfolio covers solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, wind power, and energy storage. The project is scheduled to enter the operational phase in May 2028, and during the peak construction period, it is expected to create up to 300 local jobs.

After the Fleming solar project begins site preparation, the subsequent focus will be on construction organization, module supply, grid connection arrangements, and long-term operational plans. Utility-scale solar projects in the US have high requirements for land, transmission access, and equipment delivery cycles. By advancing the Fleming solar project, Acciona Energia will further expand its project pipeline in the US clean electricity market.
