The initiative was announced at its inaugural meeting chaired by Undersecretary Mohsen Hamad Al Hadrami. The project will be led by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and will later expand to include other energy companies and government entities.

The sector currently manages over 6,000 suppliers and contractors, issuing more than 600 tenders annually. The new digital platform will enhance transparency, governance, data analysis, and risk management, while leveraging artificial intelligence to generate operational insights and support decision-making. The platform will also track in-country value, strengthen market opportunities for Omani enterprises, and pave the way for building a digital marketplace for industry suppliers.

The initiative supports Oman Vision 2040 by enhancing competitiveness, driving digital transformation, and promoting national economic development. Today, the digital and intelligent transformation of the energy sector is a hot topic for countries worldwide.
