en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vertiv Holdings, a US data center equipment manufacturer, officially inaugurated its first production facility in Southeast Asia on July 1, 2026, located in Senai, Johor, Malaysia, to meet the rapidly growing demand for data center power and cooling equipment in the Asia-Pacific region. The new plant covers approximately 21,900 square meters and integrates manufacturing, assembly, and testing, with the capacity to produce large-scale thermal management, power, and infrastructure solutions.
Headquartered in Ohio, USA, Vertiv is a global leading provider of critical digital infrastructure and solutions, offering power, cooling, and infrastructure management products and services for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities. The new plant, located in Johor near Singapore, benefits from regional transportation networks and proximity to key technology industry clusters, helping to better serve markets in Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Once fully operational next year, the facility will provide up to 500 technical jobs.
In addition to producing cold plate liquid cooling units (CoolChip CDU) that support data centers, the deployment speed of prefabricated power solutions is reduced by up to 50% compared to traditional methods, and the integrated prefabricated infrastructure system SmartRun can shorten on-site installation time by up to 85%. Vertiv CEO Giordano Albertazzi stated that Asia remains one of the fastest-growing regions for global artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure investment, and the company's expansion of manufacturing footprint in the region will further enhance its ability to support customers in deploying critical digital infrastructure with quality, speed, and scale. In recent years, technology companies such as Amazon, Alphabet, Alibaba, and Tencent have invested billions of dollars to expand data centers in Asia, driving continuous growth in related infrastructure demand.
