en.Wedoany.com Reported - China's Chongqing Qingtuo New Materials' 700,000-ton annual stainless steel cold rolling project officially broke ground on July 2, 2026, in Fuling District, Chongqing. The project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan and is expected to be completed and operational by June 2027, with an annual output value of 10 billion yuan upon full production. This project will fill the gap in high-end cold-rolled stainless steel capacity in Chongqing, driving the transformation of Fuling's metal materials industry toward intelligence, green development, and integration.
On the same day, at an event held in Fuling, the main structure of Chongqing Ruipu Lanjun's 30GWh battery project was also topped out. The first phase of the project plans 12GWh of energy storage and power lithium battery capacity, which, upon completion, will address the core shortfall in Fuling's new energy vehicle battery cell manufacturing.
Additionally, Ma'anshan Boteng Metallurgical Technology's annual 20,000-ton new energy vehicle precision molds and cutting tools project recently broke ground in Ma'anshan Bowang High-tech Zone. The project covers approximately 43 mu of land, focusing on high-end new energy vehicle molds and shredder cutting tools, establishing an integrated precision machining production line from special steel forgings to high-end molds and cutting tools. Taiyuan Municipal Administrative Examination and Approval Service Bureau accepted the environmental impact assessment documents for Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Hot Rolling Plant's 4300 medium-thick plate heat treatment product upgrade and structural optimization project on June 26, 2026. After the upgrade, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 1.02 million tons of rolled steel, 500,000 tons of stainless steel surface treatment, and 120,000 tons of carbon steel heat treatment.
