EMH crane latest expansion project breaks ground

Vice President and Co-Owner David Comiono stated that the new space and facilities will boost capacity, enabling the company to build multiple crane systems simultaneously. Currently, EMH can construct 2 to 3 cranes at a time, with lengths of 80, 90, or 120 feet; after the expansion, it will be capable of building 4, 5, or even 6 cranes at once.

With increased capacity, EMH also plans to acquire a multi-head shot blasting machine for blasting more complex shapes at double the speed, and will add a new gantry weld seam welding machine for larger welds on box girders. The $2 million facility is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

For this expansion, EMH has once again partnered with Campbell Construction for design and construction. The company, with offices in Wadsworth and Wooster, Ohio, is a full-service design-build general contractor. The Medina County Economic Development Corporation assisted with community reinvestment area incentives for the project.

Headquartered in Valley City, Ohio, EMH designs, sells, and manufactures complete material handling equipment solutions, with load capacities ranging from 25 pounds to 300 tons. Its product line includes bridge cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, freestanding cranes, workstation cranes, and crane kits, as well as custom and standard wire rope hoists and end trucks. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
