The China Construction Machinery Association is a national industry organization for China's construction machinery sector, responsible for collecting and publishing industry statistics. According to the association's statistics on major excavator manufacturers, domestic excavator sales in June 2026 were 10,898 units (including 65 electric excavators), up 33.9% year-on-year; exports totaled 14,547 units (including 34 electric excavators), up 36.4% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, cumulative domestic excavator sales reached 79,025 units (including 186 electric excavators), up 20.4% year-on-year; cumulative exports reached 73,295 units (including 135 electric excavators), up 33.5% year-on-year.
For loaders, domestic sales in June 2026 were 7,002 units (including 4,215 electric loaders), up 16.4% year-on-year; exports totaled 8,000 units (including 411 electric loaders), up 33.4% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, cumulative domestic loader sales reached 41,396 units (including 23,802 electric loaders), up 16.2% year-on-year; cumulative exports reached 40,656 units (including 1,643 electric loaders), up 39.5% year-on-year.
From the data characteristics, both excavator and loader categories achieved year-on-year sales growth of over 26% in the first half of the year, with export growth significantly outpacing domestic growth—excavator exports grew 33.5% cumulatively, while loader exports grew 39.5% cumulatively, reflecting the continued expansion capability of Chinese construction machinery companies in overseas markets. In terms of electrified products, electric loader sales in June reached 4,215 units, accounting for 60.2% of domestic loader sales that month, indicating a significant increase in electrification penetration. Electric excavator sales stood at 65 units, still in the market introduction phase.
The construction machinery industry is an important barometer for infrastructure construction and fixed asset investment. The dual growth in excavator and loader sales in the first half of the year aligns with the recovery in demand from China's infrastructure investment, mining, and real estate sectors during the same period. The strong growth in export markets benefits from the continued penetration of Chinese construction machinery brands along the Belt and Road Initiative routes and in emerging markets. The release of June data provides an important reference for observing the operational trends of China's construction machinery industry in the first half of the year.
