en.Wedoany.com Reported - District Metals has commissioned Expert Geophysics Surveys (EGS) to conduct a helicopter-borne airborne geophysical survey over its alum shale assets in Jämtland and Västerbotten counties in north-central Sweden.

The survey will employ the Mobile Magnetotelluric (MobileMT) system, covering approximately 2,253 line kilometers with a line spacing of 400 meters.
In June 2025, District Metals used a MobileMT survey to map the distribution of mineralized alum shale hosting the Viken energy metals deposit. The company reported that the results supported further application of this geophysical method across its alum shale assets.
In July 2025, the MobileMT survey covered approximately half of the 151,329-hectare alum shale asset area and identified multiple large conductive anomaly zones. District Metals noted that these anomalies could represent mineralization targets. The company plans to prioritize follow-up work in areas where the mineralized alum shale accumulation is shallowest and thickest.
According to District Metals, the typically sub-horizontal alum shale unit contains significant graphite, resulting in strong conductive responses, particularly in areas connected to the Viken deposit. The June MobileMT survey clarified these geophysical characteristics, helping to identify potential drill targets at both the alum shale and Viken locations.
District Metals CEO Garrett Ainsworth stated: "The decision to expand the MobileMT survey across the alum shale assets was strongly supported by the excellent results from the Viken deposit. The survey successfully mapped the mineralized alum shale host rock and validated MobileMT as an efficient exploration tool. We have now surveyed approximately half of the alum shale blocks, identifying multiple large conductive anomaly zones, and have recently commenced drill testing at the Österkälen license area."
The MobileMT technology, introduced by Expert Geophysics Surveys in 2018, is specifically designed for airborne natural-source audio-frequency magnetotelluric surveys. Last month, the company initiated diamond drilling at the Österkälen license area within the alum shale assets.
