en.Wedoany.com Reported - This collaboration marks a new milestone in Zetrix's ecosystem expansion within the ASEAN region. Malaysia's Zetrix Layer-1 public blockchain platform has been selected by the Philippine government as the underlying protocol for its national public chain, marking the second time Zetrix powers a sovereign-level blockchain infrastructure, following its operation as Malaysia's blockchain infrastructure.

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, July 7, 2026 – Zetrix AI Berhad Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Philippine government. The Zetrix blockchain, developed by Zetrix AI and previously operating as the core chain of Malaysia's Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), will now support a second sovereign-level blockchain infrastructure.

Aquino, Chairman of Zetrix Philippines Inc., during the signing of the MoU on the implementation of Philippine public chain infrastructure based on the Zetrix protocol.

The MoU was signed among Zetrix Philippines Inc., My Blockchain Infrastructure Sdn. Bhd. (a joint venture between Zetrix AI and Malaysia's national R&D agency MIMOS Berhad), and the Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology, aiming to establish cooperation for the implementation and operation of Philippine public chain infrastructure based on the Zetrix protocol.

In the agentic AI economy, blockchain technology is regarded as a critical safeguard, providing tamper-proof data provenance and verifiable, transparent transaction trails for citizens and AI agents. As the largest issuer of trusted credentials, governments need to provide a platform where the issuance, authentication, and verification of credential documents can be conducted digitally on a large scale in a secure, reliable, and trustworthy manner, serving individuals, commercial entities, and agentic AI.

Zetrix became the foundational chain of Malaysia's MBI national blockchain in April 2025 and has now been selected by the Philippines as the primary blockchain infrastructure for deploying government-issued digital credentials and critical national applications. Zetrix also operates the international supernode of China's national Xinghuo Blockchain Infrastructure, solidifying its position as a global leader in sovereign digital identity, enabling verification for nearly 20% of the world's population.

Henry R. Aguda, Secretary of the Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology, stated that the initiative aims to make trust portable across systems and borders, making the verification of government-issued credentials more secure and efficient across systems, allowing citizens to access services faster regardless of their location. TS Wong, Managing Director of Zetrix AI Group, expressed gratitude for the Philippine government's trust in making Zetrix a key driver of the Web3 revolution for the Filipino people, noting that this milestone marks a significant step toward integrating countries in the region into an interconnected ecosystem, fostering economic growth through enhanced regional cooperation.

Launched in April 2022, the Zetrix blockchain has powered various use cases including digital identity verification, customs clearance processing, global voting applications, and stablecoins. The partnership in the Philippines will initially focus on deploying similar blockchain applications, including cross-border interoperability between Malaysian and Philippine national digital identities, the issuance, verification, and authentication of Philippine government-issued credentials, and trade facilitation.

Zetrix's adoption in the Philippines adds a new dimension to Zetrix AI's operations in the country. The group has been operating in the Philippines for nearly a decade as a leading enabler of digital government services, partnering with key government agencies including the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Philippine Ports Authority, and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

Zetrix AI Berhad (referred to as Zetrix AI), formerly known as MY E.G. Services Berhad, is headquartered in Malaysia and began operations in 2000 as a pioneer in Malaysian e-government services. Leveraging its Layer-1 blockchain platform Zetrix, the company provides cross-border transactions, digital identity interoperability, and automation solutions. Zetrix is a Layer-1 public blockchain that supports smart contracts and offers privacy, security, and scalability, connecting governments, businesses, and their citizens to the global blockchain economy.
