en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hypertherm Associates, an American manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, will showcase its plasma and waterjet cutting technologies and digital solutions at FABTECH 2026 (Booth C5025). Scheduled for October 21-23, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the company will demonstrate through live cutting demonstrations and expert discussions how plasma and waterjet cutting technologies can enhance productivity, precision, and operational efficiency.

In the plasma cutting demonstrations, the focus will be on applications such as gouging, flush cutting, bevel cutting, and collaborative robot cutting, highlighting the ability of plasma systems integrated into automated workflows to increase productivity while maintaining cut quality and ease of operation. The OMAX waterjet demonstrations will showcase the flexibility of abrasive waterjet technology in near-net-shape manufacturing, multi-material cutting, complex three-dimensional geometries, and destructive testing, emphasizing its heat-affected zone (HAZ)-free nature and elimination of secondary finishing. World-renowned metal artist Rae Ripple will operate the portable ProtoMAX abrasive waterjet system in daily sessions, demonstrating its ability to help users quickly transform concepts into finished parts, suitable for all experience levels. Hypertherm Associates will also display custom artworks created by Ripple using waterjet and plasma technologies.

In terms of equipment displays, the MAXIEM series JetMachining Center will be featured, equipped with a software-controlled VersaJET five-axis cutting head offering a 0 to 60-degree cutting range for producing beveled edges, angled sides, and complex three-dimensional geometries while minimizing secondary finishing. The system achieves ±0.003-inch linear positioning accuracy and ±0.001-inch repeatability on a variety of materials, including metals, composites, glass, and stone. It is configured with a variable frequency drive to reduce energy consumption and maintenance, and features a new hopper design with advanced feed abrasive filtration, with an optional abrasive blockage detection system that automatically pauses the machine when a blockage is detected. The OptiMAX JetMachining Center will also be demonstrated through continuous cutting, featuring the standard IntelliTRAX linear drive system with traverse speeds of 350 inches per minute (8.9 meters per minute), real-time closed-loop positioning feedback with micron-level accuracy, supported by the industry-leading IntelliMAX advanced software suite. The machine is also equipped with a TiltaJET taper-eliminating abrasive jet cutting head that dynamically tilts the nozzle during cutting to minimize taper and jet lag. The compact ProtoMAX portable cutting system will be displayed as part of Ripple's demonstrations and throughout the show, featuring a 12-inch x 12-inch (304 mm x 304 mm) cutting area, capable of processing materials up to 1 inch (25 mm) thick, powered by a 5-horsepower (3.7 kW) direct-drive pump delivering 30,000 psi (2,068 bar) cutting pressure.

In the plasma systems category, the Powermax SYNC system will demonstrate its innovative applications in cutting, gouging, and flush cutting. The system replaces traditional five-piece consumable stacks with a SmartSYNC torch and single color-coded cartridge, with embedded technology automatically setting the correct current, gas pressure, and operating mode, and notifying the operator when the cartridge needs replacement. Controls on the SmartSYNC torch allow operators to adjust current and change cartridges without returning to the power supply. The cartridge is manufactured as a single piece, ensuring perfect alignment and optimization of all internal components, extending service life by up to two times and providing cleaner cuts. The cartridge also tracks data such as arc starts and arc time to identify trends and improve user operational efficiency. XPR plasma technology offers X-Definition cutting capabilities, designed for high-performance mechanized cutting, delivering superior cut quality, productivity, and process consistency in mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, paired with Hypertherm Associates' SureCut technology for bolt hole preparation, advanced bevel cutting, and optimized plate utilization. Attendees can also learn how plasma technology can be easily integrated into robotic applications to automate repetitive cutting processes.

In the digital solutions section, the abrasive waterjet cutting systems on the booth are mostly equipped with the latest version of IntelliMAX, including the IntelliVISOR mobile application for iOS and Android operating systems, enabling remote real-time cutting monitoring, system status and issue alerts, remote pause, and instant notifications from anywhere. The ProNest CAD/CAM nesting software will also be displayed at the booth, designed for advanced mechanized cutting applications such as plasma, laser, waterjet, and oxyfuel, optimizing material utilization and offering part design, CAD import, manual nesting, reporting, costing, and quoting functions, with its fully automated interface reducing programming time from hours to minutes.
