en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swiss telecom companies Swisscom and Sunrise, together with data analytics provider Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions, have jointly established an anti-fraud alliance. According to the US-based company, this is the world's first telecom alliance to share fraud attempt information in real time.
Once the alliance is operational, if one telecom operator identifies and blocks a fraudster, the relevant information will be transmitted in real time to the other operator, preventing the fraudster from easily switching to another network. The alliance thus serves as an early warning system to enhance fraud prevention capabilities.

The technical foundation comes from the Lexis Nexis Risk Intelligence Consortium, a network already used in other industries for compliant risk information exchange. According to Lexis Nexis data, within the first three months of its establishment, the Swiss telecom alliance identified over 4,000 risk characteristics, resulting in a 150% improvement in fraud detection capabilities.
Michael Hohermuth, Fraud Prevention Manager at Swisscom, stated that the alliance collaboration has enabled the company to shift toward a more proactive fraud prevention strategy. Being able to respond to high-risk signals before fraud attempts occur elevates threat management capabilities to a new level.
Since July this year, the Swiss Federal Office of Communications (Bakom) has further required telecom companies to strengthen protective measures against suspicious calls.
