en.Wedoany.com Reported - Arika Resources (ASX: ARI) plans to commence a reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling program exceeding 20,000 meters at its two wholly-owned gold projects, Yundamindra and Kookynie, in Western Australia over the coming weeks.
The drilling will focus on evaluating multiple high-priority greenfield and brownfield targets in the Leonora-Laverton region. Arika stated that initial drilling will concentrate on the Cosmopolitan, Altona, and Ithaca prospects at the Kookynie project, aiming to identify high-grade extensions and new discoveries identified through technical assessments. At the Yundamindra project, the company plans to resume drilling at the Pennyweight Point and Landed at Last prospects.
This drilling campaign builds on results from 100 holes (totaling 14,752 meters) of RC drilling completed between January and June this year, as Arika advances toward the project's first Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
Arika Managing Director Justin Barton said the company is entering its "most active" exploration period, with multiple drilling programs running concurrently at Kookynie and Yundamindra to extend existing high-grade discoveries and test new targets. He noted that technical work continues to generate new opportunities, such as the completion of soil geochemistry at Emerald City, which will guide the first modern drilling in that area.
The Emerald City prospect covers approximately half of the Yundamindra project area, with geophysical interpretations identifying potential structures related to intrusive contact zones and major fault intersections.
To assess gold recovery characteristics and support future development studies, Arika has initiated preliminary metallurgical leach testing on mineralized material from Yundamindra.
The Kookynie gold project covers approximately 150 square kilometers of tenements, including the historic Cosmopolitan Altona mine. The Yundamindra gold project is located approximately 65 kilometers southeast of Leonora in the Eastern Goldfields.
The company expects to release updates during the remainder of 2026, including drilling assay results, soil geochemistry results, and the first drilling at Emerald City.
