en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 6, the Weiheng 100MW/400MWh Independent Energy Storage Project (Phase I) in Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, China, officially commenced operation, entering a 72-hour trial run phase. This project is the company's first 110 kV grid-side independent energy storage station and has successfully achieved grid connection and operation.

The final construction scale of the project is 200MW/800MWh, with the current phase implemented at a scale of 100MW/400MWh, developed and operated by the company's subsidiary new energy company. The collection station can discharge a maximum of 100,000 kWh per hour, sustaining discharge for 4 hours, with an annual maximum discharge capacity of 110 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 107,800 tons per year. Leveraging the fast response and flexible regulation characteristics of energy storage, the station absorbs surplus photovoltaic green electricity during midday, enhancing new energy consumption capacity; it discharges and supplements energy during peak morning and evening hours, smoothing grid load fluctuations and strengthening the foundation for power supply security. As a "super charging bank" on the grid side, this project will address regional power supply shortcomings, assist Wuwei in optimizing its energy industry structure, and promote the implementation of the "dual carbon" goals.

During the project construction period, the new energy company conducted advance overall planning, performed pre-grid-connection assessments, scientifically formulated special plans, and clarified all grid-connection requirements, ensuring project grid-connection compliance and grid adaptability from the source. Subsequently, the company will focus on refined operation and maintenance of the station, ensure stable equipment operation, accelerate the transition to commercial operation, and achieve operational revenue targets as early as possible.
