en.Wedoany.com Reported - AVK has announced the construction of its first independent manufacturing facility in Haydock, Liverpool City Region, to expand the company's production capacity. The factory is part of AVK's growth strategy in the UK, with an initial investment of £3 million (approximately $4.018 million), aimed at establishing scalable manufacturing capabilities.

The facility will assemble AVK's modular low-voltage/medium-voltage PowerPods. These are pre-designed, transportable power systems used to support AI data centers and the broader digital economy. AVK aims to solidify the Northwest region's position as an advanced manufacturing hub and strengthen the UK's role in the AI infrastructure supply chain through this facility.
Simon Davis, Head of Production and Modular Services at AVK, said: "PowerPods complete our approach to the data center market, and Haydock provides us with a dedicated production base to manufacture these products at scale. This is a British company investing in British manufacturing and British skills, located in a region with a proud industrial heritage. The factory will enhance the UK's ability to power the AI economy while creating long-term, tangible opportunities for local residents, apprentices, and graduates."
AVK stated that Haydock was chosen for its logistical advantages and established engineering base. The location is expected to offer strong connectivity, facilitating the transport of materials and complete PowerPods to customers across the UK and Europe. The facility is also expected to create a significant number of high-skilled jobs in its first year of operation, with AVK indicating further potential for job growth as production scales up in the coming years. Recruitment will include apprenticeship, graduate, and technical positions to build a robust talent pipeline.
AVK added that some of these positions will be apprenticeships, supported through a new partnership with local St Helens College. David Baines, MP for St Helens North, commented: "I am delighted to see AVK investing in Haydock. They are not only creating a large number of high-quality, high-skilled jobs in our region but also partnering with St Helens College to ensure exciting new opportunities for young people in St Helens. I have always advocated for and supported investment in our community—we have the ready talent and infrastructure—and this clearly shows that our region is a place where businesses know they can establish and thrive, bringing the benefits of jobs and growth to local and surrounding communities."
The factory is marked as a long-term investment by AVK, specifically targeting local skills and regional growth. Lord Stockwood, Minister for Investment, said: "AVK-SEG's investment in Haydock is a strong vote of confidence in UK advanced manufacturing and the Liverpool City Region, creating high-skilled jobs, boosting apprenticeships, and cementing our role in powering the AI economy. This is exactly the kind of innovation-driven growth outlined in the Industrial Strategy—supporting British talent, developing priority sectors, and ensuring communities benefit from long-term investment."
