en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tusk IC has secured a new contract from the European Space Agency (ESA), supported by BELSPO, to productize the Ka-band beamforming technology developed under the ESA-funded Nebula R&D project. This project falls under the Industrial Competitiveness line of ESA's Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) program. The product phase activities will advance Tusk IC's ConnectKa chip and ConnecTile™ modules from prototypes to market-ready stages through design optimization, qualification testing, pilot production, and mass manufacturing infrastructure.

Tusk IC secures ESA contract to bring Ka-band satellite communication technology to market

Tusk IC CEO Kathleen Philips stated that this new phase marks a significant step from innovation to commercialization for Tusk IC. Building on the foundation laid by the Nebula project, the company is preparing the Ka-band chip and ConnecTile™ for volume production and deployment in European satellite communication user terminals. ESA Telecommunications Systems Engineer Constantin Siriteanu noted that ESA demonstrates its commitment to strengthening Europe's competitiveness in satellite communications by supporting Tusk IC's record-low-power solution manufactured using large-scale chip technology (i.e., complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor—bulk CMOS), which helps build a more efficient, resilient, and autonomous European supply chain.
