en.Wedoany.com Reported - BAM UK & Ireland has officially handed over the keys of the newly built Caledonia High School to Rosyth, with the school scheduled to open to students this August.

Designed and constructed to Passivhaus standards, the school is expected to become one of the most energy-efficient campuses in the UK. It is estimated that its energy consumption will be approximately three-quarters lower than that of a newly built school under UK standards.
Caledonia High School was delivered by BAM UK & Ireland in partnership with Fife Council, Hub East Central Scotland, and the Scottish Futures Trust. This Passivhaus school replaces Inverkeithing High School.
The school's design caters to the needs of modern learners, featuring fully accessible indoor and outdoor learning areas. The auditorium can accommodate up to 350 students, and the new campus is also equipped with a variety of outdoor sports facilities and digital learning spaces.
Martin Cooper, BAM's Construction Director for Scotland, stated that the project demonstrates what can be achieved through close collaboration and a shared commitment to education, sustainability, and community benefits.
Councillor Cara Hilton, Fife Council's Education Spokesperson, said that this modern, high-quality learning environment is designed to support student growth and will benefit generations in West Fife.
This project is the second Passivhaus school delivered by BAM UK & Ireland in partnership with Fife Council. The Woodmill and St Columba's High School campus, delivered two years ago, saw a reduction of £433,392 in energy bills during its first year of operation.
Students will officially enter Caledonia High School after the summer break on August 19 this year.
