en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 2026 China Concrete and Cement Products Association Science and Technology Innovation Platform Work Conference was held in Shanghai from July 4 to 5. The conference was hosted by the China Concrete and Cement Products Association and organized by Shanghai Construction Building Materials Technology Group Co., Ltd.

Wang Zhaojia of the China Concrete and Cement Products Association, Chen Jianda, Vice President and Chief Engineer of Shanghai Construction Building Materials Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Dean of the Engineering Research Institute, Zhu Mintao, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of the Technology Center and Deputy Dean of the Engineering Research Institute, along with representatives from 18 industry science and technology innovation platforms and invited guests of the association, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Chen Yu, Deputy Secretary-General of the association.

In his address, Wang Zhaojia stated that the industry is currently in a critical period of market transformation and technological upgrading, and integrating innovation resources and deepening industry-university-research-application collaboration are core pathways to break through development bottlenecks. This meeting aims to strengthen platform linkages and unlock synergies across the industrial chain. The agenda includes a review of each platform's achievements in 2025, sharing of the "15th Five-Year Plan" science and technology innovation plans, invited special reports, and exchange discussions. Wang Zhaojia pointed out that future industry science and technology innovation platforms need to focus on interaction across the entire industrial chain, making innovation outcomes better match actual industrial needs.

Chen Jianda delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Shanghai Construction Building Materials Technology Group. He stated that as a leading enterprise in ready-mixed concrete and precast component production in the Shanghai region, the group has always attached importance to the construction of science and technology innovation platforms. The establishment of the "Concrete Full Industrial Chain Collaborative Innovation Center" during the meeting is a recognition of the group's scientific innovation capabilities and platform operation and maintenance capabilities. The center will integrate upstream and downstream resources including ready-mixed concrete, precast components, design and R&D, engineering construction, and supporting industrial chains, forming a full-process integrated collaborative innovation system from raw material supply to engineering application, promoting cross-field integration and large-scale implementation of key technologies such as green, low-carbon, and intelligent construction.

The conference then held the 2026 Science and Technology Innovation Platform Awarding Ceremony. Wang Zhaojia and Chen Jianda jointly unveiled the "Concrete and Cement Products Industry Concrete Full Industrial Chain Collaborative Innovation Center."

Zhu Mintao introduced the science and technology innovation work of Shanghai Construction Building Materials Technology Group. He stated that the industry is in a transition phase from "rapid development" to "high-quality development." The group has technological advantages in areas such as large-scale urban space engineering, urban renewal, transportation and public construction, prefabricated buildings, crack resistance and waterproofing, green low-carbon, and intelligent construction. In the future, the Concrete Full Industrial Chain Collaborative Innovation Center will integrate full-chain resources including green materials, intelligent production, carbon asset management, and quality improvement, providing core technical support for related construction projects.

Ding Xiaoming, head of the Ultra-High Performance Concrete Industry Development Research Center, introduced the progress of the platform's work. He stated that ultra-high performance concrete is in a phase of accelerated transition from "laboratory material" to "large-scale engineering application." The center will focus on four major directions: material performance optimization, intelligent manufacturing, application scenario innovation, and green low-carbon, driving industry development through a model of "independent R&D + industry-university-research cooperation."

During the industry science and technology innovation technical exchange session, three experts shared representative achievements. Professor Yu Jiangtao from Tongji University presented a report titled "Future-Oriented Unreinforced ECC Construction Technology." The high-performance unreinforced ECC material developed by his team demonstrates significantly superior comprehensive mechanical properties—including tensile, flexural, impact, and blast resistance—compared to ordinary concrete and conventional ECC. They also explored unreinforced intelligent construction pathways such as 3D printing, automated masonry, spatially shaped shells, and biomimetic modular assembly.

Dr. Liu Yanjun, Chief Expert of Beijing Building Materials Academy of Sciences Research Co., Ltd., delivered a report titled "Demonstration of High-Activity Belite Cement Concrete Engineering Applications." Compared to ordinary Portland cement, this cement exhibits significantly reduced hydration heat, excellent workability of fresh concrete, sustained and stable long-term strength growth, and outstanding impermeability, crack resistance, and durability. It has been successfully used to formulate ultra-high performance concrete, applied in over ten projects including mine roads, precast components, subway tunnels, wind power foundations, and nuclear power plants.

Liao Lin, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Shanxi Jiaoke New Material Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the "Highway Ultra-High Performance Concrete Barriers" project. Addressing issues such as the high self-weight, poor freeze-thaw and corrosion resistance, and high maintenance costs of traditional concrete barriers, the research team developed localized high-performance UHPC multi-gradient materials and conducted simulation-based iterative optimization of barrier structures. The technology passed full-scale real-vehicle crash safety verification for SB, SA, and SS levels, and an automated intelligent production line was established for large-scale manufacturing. The technology has been implemented on a 52.5-kilometer demonstration section of the Fenshi Expressway, with a total planned implementation mileage exceeding 400 kilometers nationwide.

In her "2025 Industry Science and Technology Innovation Platform Work Summary Report," Chen Yu noted that in 2025, various platforms achieved breakthroughs in multiple areas including solid waste resource utilization, low-carbon building materials, intelligent manufacturing, and high-performance UHPC materials. They established multiple solid waste treatment demonstration production lines, developed achievements such as low-carbon belite cement, marine durable components, and intelligent production equipment, added one new science and technology innovation platform, and applied numerous technologies to major projects such as rail transit and marine ranching. However, platforms also face shortcomings such as uneven development, incomplete systems, and weak technology transfer. As 2026 marks the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan," the association will improve the platform assessment and exit mechanism, accelerate the large-scale implementation of scientific research results, and leverage standard innovation to support the industry's high-quality "dual carbon" transition.

Representatives from various platforms and invited guests subsequently discussed topics including the 2025 platform construction status, "15th Five-Year Plan" science and technology innovation plans, issues to be resolved in platform construction, suggestions for the system's development, and proposals for launching "open competition" activities.

On the morning of July 5, platform representatives and guests visited the Ninth Branch of Shanghai Construction Building Materials Technology Group Co., Ltd. and the "Chinese Fan" project of the Shanghai Grand Opera House.
