en.Wedoany.com Reported - Invictus Energy Ltd. has awarded multiple key contracts covering well site construction, civil works, and logistics and support services mobilization, in preparation for drilling the Musuma-1 exploration well in the Cabora Bassa project onshore northern Zimbabwe.

The scope of well site construction and civil works includes upgrading access roads to support rig transport and ongoing operations, and establishing water supply infrastructure required for drilling operations. Site work is being planned to prepare the well pad and related facilities for Rig 202.
Invictus has completed evaluations of suppliers for long-lead items such as wellhead equipment and tubulars, and is preparing to award the remaining supply contracts. All major long-lead procurement items for the well are in place.
Drilling contractor Exalo Drilling SA is mobilizing a team to Zimbabwe this week to begin local deployment and perform critical maintenance work on the rig. These efforts are being coordinated with Invictus's local team to prepare for the planned move to the Musuma-1 well site and the rig acceptance process for the upcoming drilling campaign.
The Musuma-1 well is expected to spud in the second half of 2026, targeting an estimated total average unrisked gross mean prospective resource of 1.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 73 million barrels of condensate. The company stated that the project represents one of the most significant undrilled conventional exploration opportunities in the Cabora Bassa Basin.
Invictus Energy is the operator of the Cabora Bassa project, holding an 80% interest.
