UK's Polaris Autoliners acquires two car carriers for $44 million
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Polaris Autoliners has acquired two 2000-CEU pure car and truck carriers (PCTC), named MV Polaris Oslo and MV Polaris Star, expanding its controlled fleet to 10 vessels.

This acquisition increases Polaris Autoliners' owned fleet to five vessels, with an additional five chartered, while adding feeder-class capacity suitable for regional and short-sea automotive trade. Both vessels were purchased from Oslo-based Global Car Carriers, previously named Viking Oslo and Viking Odessa. The transaction price for the two vessels is reported to be approximately $44 million. The former Viking Odessa (now Polaris Star) was built in 2009, while the former Viking Oslo (now Polaris Oslo) was built in 2010.
Polaris Autoliners is the roll-on/roll-off shipping division of Polaris Group, a London-headquartered automotive transport and logistics platform that also includes Polaris Logistics (formerly Salloum Logistics). The group operates in seven countries, with 230 trucks and four inland terminals in 2025, transporting over 650,000 vehicles annually.
Global Car Carriers is an Oslo-based tonnage provider serving maritime vehicle transport operators. Its fleet includes 30 car carriers, with 20 currently in operation and 10 under construction.
