en.Wedoany.com Reported - Key progress has been made on the construction of Toulouse's new Metro Line C, with all three tunnel boring machines (TBMs) now back in operation, advancing excavation across multiple sections of the €3.5 billion project.

The latest construction breakthrough was achieved by TBM "Lise Enjalbert." Last month, the machine completed its second breakthrough at the future Blagnac station, having previously excavated over 2 kilometers from the Ponts Jumeaux launch shaft. It has now begun excavating the final 1,867-meter section between Blagnac station and the Laporte reception shaft.

Meanwhile, TBM "Berthe de Puybusque" has started its second phase of excavation, located between the future La Vache Gare–Le Grand Marché station and the Raisin station. During this phase, the TBM will pass beneath the future Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec station before completing an additional 2,122 meters of tunneling.

The project's third TBM, "Jeanne Marvig," has also resumed excavation on the western section of the line. Operating between the Fontaine Lumineuse and Saint-Martin-du-Touch stations, it continues to advance toward the final breakthrough at the Laporte reception shaft.

The tunneling works are being carried out by a joint venture led by Eiffage Génie Civil as the main contractor, in partnership with NGE, on behalf of Tisséo Ingénierie.

Line C is Toulouse's third metro line and one of the largest urban transport projects currently under construction in France. The 27-kilometer line will connect Colomiers in the northwest to Labège in the southeast, passing through Blagnac and the center of Toulouse. Approximately 80% of the line will be underground, with a total of 21 stations, including 17 underground and 4 elevated stations.

The line is currently scheduled to enter service by the end of 2028, with an expected daily ridership of around 200,000 passengers. It will directly connect Toulouse's major employment centers, including the Airbus aviation hub, and significantly improve transport links across the entire metropolitan area.
