en.Wedoany.com Reported - The China Engineers Joint Venture and ZTE recently jointly launched the "Center of Excellence for Engineering Capacity Building (Hanoi, Vietnam)" project in Beijing, signing a Letter of Intent on Cooperation for the Joint Construction of the Center of Excellence for Engineering Capacity Building (Hanoi, Vietnam). Leaders and experts from the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Engineers Joint Venture, the China Institute of Communications, and ZTE attended the event, witnessing the deepening cooperation between China and Vietnam in cultivating engineering and technical talent in the information and communications field. The launch of this center marks a substantive step forward in promoting the international mutual recognition of engineering qualifications between the two sides and will also support the training of communications talent for the digital transformation of Vietnam and neighboring ASEAN countries.

In June 2025, the China Engineers Joint Venture and ZTE officially initiated preparations for building the Center of Excellence for Engineering Capacity Building in Vietnam. The project leverages Vietnam's young talent pool as a foundation, radiating to ASEAN countries such as Cambodia and Laos, focusing on cutting-edge technology areas like 5G, artificial intelligence, and computing power networks. It aims to promote the popularization of 5G and future communication technologies in the ASEAN region, establish a talent cultivation ecosystem involving school-enterprise collaboration and government-enterprise linkage, and support the digital transformation and industrial upgrading of Vietnam and neighboring countries.

Currently, the China Engineers Joint Venture and ZTE have completed preliminary research and program design for the center's construction. The training curriculum is being developed around key technology areas such as 5G network deployment, AI application development, and computing power network architecture. Plans include introducing practical training models like project-based learning and case studies to enhance training effectiveness. In the next phase, both parties will leverage their respective strengths in engineering capability evaluation system development, exploration of international mutual recognition mechanisms, technology R&D, and localized operations to steadily advance key tasks including curriculum development, faculty assembly, practical training environment setup, and international certification alignment.

Zhao Kai, Manager of ZTE's Vietnam Engineering Service Office, noted that in recent years, ZTE has continuously deepened its local talent ecosystem development. It has established school-enterprise partnerships with several key local universities, engaging in joint teaching, internship and practical training, faculty training, and campus recruitment, forming a cooperation model of "industry-education integration and collaborative talent cultivation."

Sun Fangping, Senior Vice President of ZTE and President of Global Services, pointed out in his speech that talent is the cornerstone of sustainable corporate development, and the company has always prioritized talent cultivation as a core strategy. Since 2025, under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Engineers Joint Venture, and the China Institute of Communications, ZTE has successively held two international engineer training sessions in Nanjing and Shenzhen, attracting over 140 engineers from institutions such as the UK's IET and the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers, initially establishing a high-level international technology exchange platform. He stated that the launch and signing of the Vietnam Center of Excellence for Engineering Capacity Building is a significant initiative by ZTE to promote global capacity co-building. In the future, ZTE will, under the guidance of relevant authorities at all levels, leverage its overseas localization advantages, deepen transnational collaboration mechanisms, strengthen knowledge sharing and technology standard output, build the capacity center to high standards, continuously enhance the international influence of Chinese engineering technology, help Chinese standards and Chinese wisdom better reach the world, and contribute more ZTE strength to global digital development.

Wang Shurui, Director of the Training and Talent Service Center of the China Association for Science and Technology and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Engineers Joint Venture, pointed out that the China Engineers Joint Venture's co-building of capacity centers with enterprises aims to share China's engineering construction experience through non-governmental scientific, technological, and cultural exchanges, showcase Chinese engineering technology, products, and equipment, enhance the capabilities of Chinese and foreign engineers, and better serve the overseas development of enterprises. He expressed hope that the China Institute of Communications and ZTE would leverage the Vietnam Center of Excellence for Engineering Capacity Building to promote Sino-Vietnamese scientific, technological, and cultural exchanges, deepen bilateral cooperation in engineering capacity building, build a localized talent cultivation ecosystem, create a benchmark for overseas capacity building by Chinese high-tech enterprises, and facilitate the "going global" of China's information and communications technology, standards, and engineers.

Looking ahead, the China Engineers Joint Venture and ZTE will continue to deepen their cooperation, committed to making the Center of Excellence for Engineering Capacity Building (Hanoi, Vietnam) a key hub for communication technology innovation and high-end talent cultivation in Southeast Asia. This will continuously inject new momentum into the regional digital economy and help build a more inclusive, universal, and sustainable digital future.
