en.Wedoany.com Reported - Modelithics Inc. announced that Spectrum Control has joined the Modelithics Vendor Partner (MVP) program as a sponsoring MVP. Spectrum Control's Powerfilm surface mount resistor products, including attenuators, resistors, and terminations, are designed for high-reliability RF and microwave applications. The two companies will develop new simulation models based on measurement data for these passive components, expanding designers' access to accurate, production-ready models.
As part of the sponsoring MVP collaboration, Modelithics and Spectrum Control will establish a comprehensive characterization and modeling roadmap covering a range of chip attenuators, broadband chip resistors, microwave chip resistors, and terminations, with validation frequencies extending from low GHz to 67 GHz. The developed models will, where applicable, scale across substrates, pad geometries, and component values, and will be validated against multi-dimensional measured S-parameter data and device specifications.
Larry Dunleavy, President and CEO of Modelithics, stated that these new models will provide RF and microwave designers with the confidence needed to shorten design cycles and reduce risk.
Through this program, Spectrum Control will offer 90-day free trial licenses of the newly developed models to key mutual customers. Modelithics will handle license distribution, installation, and onboarding support, helping designers quickly understand the value of using accurate models in their preferred EDA tools.
Jason Trippe, Product Line Manager at Spectrum Control, said that the collaboration with Modelithics strengthens the company's commitment to providing engineers with top-tier design resources, helping customers accelerate product development through investment in high-fidelity simulation models.
The Spectrum Control models developed under the agreement will be available through the Modelithics COMPLETE Library, supporting major EDA platforms such as Keysight ADS and Cadence AWR Design Environment, with some data also accessible via a dedicated Spectrum Control MVP landing page.
