en.Wedoany.com Reported - Real estate developer Blue Ladder Development is considering building a 322-acre data center campus in White County, Indiana.

According to a site plan published on the project's website, the campus is located south of U.S. Highway 24, adjacent to N 1100 W Road, and will consist of four data center buildings, each 327,612 square feet (approximately 30,426 square meters), two substations, a warehouse, and an office building.

Blue Ladder stated that the campus will use a closed-loop cooling system and emphasized that it will pay for its own electricity and bring its own power capacity. However, the company's chief developer, Josh Levine, noted in a conversation with the Lafayette Journal & Courier on July 1 that the company has not yet acquired the land or identified an end user.

DCD has contacted Blue Ladder for more details on the potential campus's IT capacity and project development timeline. Additionally, according to an email from Peter Morgan, Director of Community Development for the City of Forney, Blue Ladder purchased and planned a site for data center development in Forney, Texas, as early as 2021, but never built any facilities there. These emails were shared in a Facebook group opposing the White County, Indiana data center. DCD has also contacted the City of Forney, Texas for comment.

Blue Ladder will hold a second community forum for the data center on Tuesday, July 14, approximately two weeks after its first community forum on Monday, June 29.

White County is located in northwestern Indiana and includes the city of Monticello. The data center map shows that the county currently has no data centers.
