en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Association of Mine Surveyors of Zimbabwe (AMSZ) has announced that its 41st Annual General Meeting and Conference will be held from August 27 to 28, 2026, at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel in Masvingo. The theme of this conference is "From Surveying to Service and Strategic Partnerships for National Mining Growth."
The conference takes place at a time when Zimbabwe's mining industry is undergoing a critical transformation, with the role of mine surveyors expanding from traditional surveying and mapping to core areas such as mineral accountability, production verification, and strategic decision-making. Over the past two years, the sector has seen significant expansion, and mine surveyors are increasingly becoming spatial data managers, independent production auditors, and key partners in the national mineral accountability system.
AMSZ Secretary General Paul Takunda Mubaiwa issued a call ahead of the event, urging members, employers, and stakeholders to register early and participate fully. He stated that the decisions made at this conference will impact the association, the industry, and the positioning of mine surveyors within Zimbabwe's mining landscape, and that the presence of each delegate will strengthen the collective voice and help secure the future of the profession.
The conference is expected to bring together government officials, mining companies, investors, development partners, suppliers, technical experts, and industry leaders to discuss topics such as policy reform, cadastral modernization, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) obligations, beneficiation priorities, and the formalization of small-scale mining.
