en.Wedoany.com Reported - Jameson Resources Limited is advancing the Crown Mountain hard coking coal project in British Columbia, Canada, which has entered the final stage of environmental approval and is one of the fastest-progressing greenfield steelmaking coal projects globally.

Michael Gray, the company's interim chairman and managing director, stated that Jameson aims to supply high-quality hard coking coal to Asian steelmakers. Gray noted that Crown Mountain is the only steelmaking coal project to have entered the final joint assessment phase of the provincial and federal application process, confirming its status as Canada's most advanced premium steelmaking coal project, a recognition also acknowledged by the International Energy Agency.

Gray also discussed the project's latest feasibility study, growing interest from potential customers, and the path to permitting, financing, and development. Based on the feasibility update completed in 2025, the project's pre-tax net present value (NPV10) increased by 200% compared to the 2021 study results, reaching $942 million . The company is in discussions with major steelmakers in Japan and India regarding long-term offtake arrangements and potential equity partnerships .

The Crown Mountain project is located in the Elk Valley, one of the world's primary sources of premium low-volatile steelmaking coal, with four existing mines in the surrounding area . The project holds a 90% interest, with Jameson owning a 78.2% stake through its Canadian subsidiary, NWP Coal Canada Ltd .
