en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) has resumed commercial operations for the UG1 generating unit of the Pirapora 3 solar power plant (UFV Pirapora 3), operated by EDF Power Solutions, located in Pirapora, Minas Gerais.

The generating unit had its commercial operations suspended in August of the same year due to an inverter fire in July 2025. Initially expected to resume operations in December 2025, the restart date was postponed multiple times, with all repair work completed by mid-2026.
In June of this year, EDF formally notified Aneel of the completion of repairs and applied to resume commercial operations. The regulatory agency verified through records from the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) that the plant had resumed supplying power to the grid, thereby approving the operating license.
The resumption of commercial operations depends on both the formal notification from the operator and the effective demonstration of generation capacity. After meeting these conditions, the generating unit of EDF's plant regained full availability in Brazil's National Interconnected System. The Pirapora solar complex is one of Brazil's largest photovoltaic projects, and EDF Renewables became the sole owner of the complex's third phase after completing an equity swap in 2024.
