en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) recently announced the establishment of its wholly-owned subsidiary, DEWA International, unveiled by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. The new company aims to develop conventional and clean energy projects globally, exporting Dubai's successful model in energy and water infrastructure to overseas markets.

Sheikh Ahmed stated that under the leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai has become a high-level benchmark in the global energy and water sectors, with its infrastructure reaching world-class standards. The establishment of DEWA International is a crucial step in extending this successful model to global markets, helping to consolidate Dubai's position as a knowledge exporter in energy, water, sustainable development, and digital transformation.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, noted that DEWA ranks first globally in 13 key utility performance indicators, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service, and leads in two additional regional benchmarks. In 2025, DEWA achieved revenues of AED 32.8 billion and a net profit after tax of AED 9.06 billion, both record highs. Al Tayer added that DEWA International will leverage advanced technologies to collaborate with leading global organizations in developing power and water projects, and is currently identifying opportunities, building a project pipeline, and forging strategic partnerships to shape its global presence.
