en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 11, the "Wanghai," a super-large-diameter intelligent slurry shield machine jointly developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group (CREG) and China Railway Tunnel Bureau, rolled off the production line at the National TBM Industrialization Center in Zhengzhou. The equipment will be used in the Wanghai Road rapid renovation project.

The Shenzhen Wanghai Road rapid renovation project spans approximately 6.91 kilometers, with the "Wanghai" responsible for tunneling in the second construction zone, covering a distance of 3,461 meters. The tunnel route features dense buildings and a sensitive construction environment, requiring long-distance excavation through complex coastal strata, demanding high adaptability and precision. To address these challenges, the CREG design team developed the "Wanghai," with an excavation diameter of 15.88 meters and a total machine length of about 165 meters, making it the largest-diameter slurry balance shield machine currently used in Shenzhen's municipal engineering sector.

The Wanghai Road rapid renovation project is a key component of the expressway network in Shenzhen's Shekou area and an important part of the bay-area rapid transit framework. Upon completion, the project will enhance internal traffic connectivity and road network efficiency in the Shekou area, while strengthening rapid links between the Nanshan Central District and the Qianhai and Shekou sectors, reducing travel time and distance.
