en.Wedoany.com Reported - KT has launched an AI-based email security service for public and educational institutions, becoming the first company in South Korea to obtain Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification for an AI and advanced persistent threat (APT) email security service.

On the 13th, KT announced the official launch of its "Public AI Email Security" service, which has obtained CSAP certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). This cloud-based cybersecurity solution utilizes AI technology to detect and block cyberattacks delivered via ransomware, phishing emails, and other methods. Its filtering system operates in three stages: spam filtering, AI analysis, and APT response. After identifying malicious emails, the system only delivers normal emails to the customer's mail server.
CSAP is a critical security certification required for providing cloud services to national and public institutions in South Korea. KT stated that it is the first domestic company to obtain this certification in the field of email security services combining AI and APT technologies.
The newly launched public service is primarily targeted at public enterprises, public agencies, national universities, and other state educational institutions. As a cloud-based service, customers can adopt it without building additional security infrastructure, significantly reducing initial setup costs.
On the technical front, KT offers up to three APT analysis engines that customers can selectively combine. Through continuous AI learning, the system maintains a malicious email detection accuracy rate of over 97%, with most analyses completed within one minute to minimize email delivery delays.
The service also features functions designed to improve the response efficiency of security administrators. The "One-View" function consolidates malicious activities confirmed through AI analysis and various threat detection technologies—including detection evidence, incident details, and risk levels—into a single interface.
KT plans to leverage this certification to expand its market share in the email security sector for public and educational institutions and strengthen its cloud-based security service business. Jeon Myung-joon, Managing Director and Head of KT's Enterprise Service Division, stated that cyberattacks via email are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making proactive countermeasures essential to protect the critical information of public institutions. The company aims to provide an optimized security environment for public and educational institutions and support their secure digital transformation by offering the first CSAP-certified AI email security service in South Korea.
